Group Talk
Today I had a group talk with people from our class and the next door class about how our passion projects are going and I said that mine is going really good and that I have faced a few challenges in passion project. While talking about this in our group I had the idea to film me making something. I think if I do film myself I would be making chocolate balls because its easy and quick. Also when I was talking in my group I thought of some new recipes to try like chocolate chip cookies, pavlova and vanilla cookies. If you have any ideas of recipes I would love to hear them because I am running a little short of recipe ideas.

My Third Mentor Meeting
Before the holidays I had my third mentor meeting it went really well. I have been going down the right path. My mentor has been giving me some different ideas for recipes to make. What I have also been doing is when I bake something I bring a little bit to her to try. One of the things I want to be doing is writing a list for my mum to take to the shops with the ingredients on it that I need to use for my baking. So far I think I have been going really well on my passion project.

3 Minute Fudge
Ingredients: 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Method: 1. Butter a square pan and line with parchment paper for easy removal of set fudge. Set aside. 2. In a microwave safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk, on high for 1 minute. Remove from microwave. Let it sit for 1 minute, then stir to combine. If needed, heat an additional 30 seconds. Stir until chips are completely melted and chocolate is smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour fudge into prepared pan let fudge cool completely before cutting into squares. Place in the fridge for 1-2 hours. When cool store in an airtight container. Fudge does not need to be kept in the fridge. Now you have made 3 minute fudge enjoy.

My Mentor Meeting
A couple of weeks ago I had my first mentor meeting which I am really happy about because I needed to talk about everything that I have been doing. I took some of my library books to show her some of the things I would be making. She liked the ones I was thinking of making which is a good sign to me. I shared my blog and I told her that I was keeping it up to date. She also said that I was on the right track and how well I was doing.

Meringues
On the weekend after I spoke to my expert I made some meringues. It takes a lot of whisking to make the meringues which is what I didn't think about before I made them. So half way through the whisking I had second thoughts on whether I would like to make this. But when the whisking was over I had a long break with my hand was happy. When the meringues were cooked some of them feel apart but the ones that stayed together tasted great. Luckily there were not that many dishes.
I Spoke To My Expert
On the weekend I spoke to my godmother who is a famous food editor in Sydney Australia. A food editor is someone who makes up recipes and writes for a company. I would like to do that when I am older. The confiscation went on for about ten minutes even though I had 5 questions. She is such a nice person I would gladly call her again any time. This is how she gets her food ideas she takes to of her favourite foods and smashes them together.

Rice Bubble Cake
I have made some rice bubble it is one of my favourite cakes of all time so it was nice to have it again. I haven't had it in a long time so it was nice because it brings back memories of when I was a little kid because I used to make nearly every week. The first batch got burnt so I got really sad but as they say not everything works first time so I got over it. Then the second time I didn't burn it so I was so happy because I was so disappointed when it got burnt. Over all it tasted really good it wasn't to soft and it wasn't to hard. It tasted really good.

Chocolate Cookie
So today I decided to try melting chocolate to dip a cookie time in. OMG it was so good it was one of the best things to eat in this world it's really simple to make read more and i'll tell you in 5 easy steps how to make the chocolate cookie. 1st step get a small saucepan and a small glass bowl. 2nd step add about a cup of water into the pot then pour about 15 chocolate melts in and turn the stove on to half way keep a very close eye on it and slowly stir it. 3rd step when the chocolate has started leaving marks it means it's starting to melt when it has melted take it off the stove. 4th step while it is cooling down heat up a cookie time or a cookie in the microwave for 15 seconds. 5th step dip your cookie into the chocolate and then eat it enjoy.

Going to get some books
Today I went to yet some books from the library on baking for my Passion Project. I came back with about 5 cooking books with lots of different baking in it. So I am going to have to try out most of them which I am very excited about because most of these recipes I have not baked before. I think some of these recipes will taste really good. I also think that some of these recipes will not go according to plan so I am a bit nervous about that. But at the moment I think that Passion Project will be a fun experience.

Lemon Meringue Pie
On the weekend I went to my friends house and her dad showed me how to make Lemon Meringue Pie. It tasted really good. It is basically a vanilla biscuit crumble on the bottom with smooth creamy lemony cream. On top I put a foamy meringue spread with curly lemon zests on top. It tasted really good for my first lemon meringue pie. It took a while since I was just learning it. The mixing was really fun because I love mixing but what I love even more is mixing with a whisk. Even though it takes a lot of time to whisk I love it because it is what they used to do in the olden days. But the best bit of cooking this is licking the tools you used.

Recipe Idea
Yesterday I came up with an idea for a yummy recipe for my baking book. I thought of some of the foods we had in the pantry that were sweet and there was chocolate and marshmallows. I thought would if I combined chocolate and marshmallows together in a chocolate mould. So I got an easter egg chocolate mould because it was easter and then put a thin spread of chocolate all around the mould. Then I got half of a marshmallow and put it in the chocolate. Then I applied the final layer of the chocolate and waited for it to set. Then when they were all set they tasted delicious.

I have got my Passion Project idea
I am so excited about Passion Project I all most fell over. My passion is cooking so I wanted to do something to do with cooking. My Passion Project idea is making a baking book that teens can cook by themselves. To do this I need to do a lot of research about what recipes taste good and what does not. I also want to have some people to try my food and give it a star rating or a comment about it. I am thinking of putting 10-20 recipes in there. But there are a few things that I am afraid of some of the fears I have are that I will miss out a step of the recipe or that I will make a mess that type of thing. There is one thing I am not looking forward to...... Washing the dishes!

Passion Project
A Passion Project is a project that lasts all year. Since you have to do it for a whole year you need to choose a topic that you are really passionate about. Since I am passionate about cooking I am doing a baking book that teens can cook by themselves. It has to be different from everyone else's and has to be do able in the year. You have to consider low budget, learning something new, asking around the community and stuff like that. If you had to do a Passion Project what would it be?
